GLANDULAR BALANCE
Blend: Alfalfa Leaf, Bladderwrack, Dulse, Fennel Seed, Irish Moss, Kelp, Licorice Root, Nopal, Parsley Leaf, Rosemary Leaf, Sarsaparilla Root, Schizandra Berry, Spirulina, Yarrow Flower
This blend balances and supports the entire glandular system including the pituitary, adrenal, thyroid, parathyroid, pancreas, reproductive, hypothalamus, thymus and pineal gland, along with the immune system and emotional stress in the digestive system. It also contains many adaptogen herbs that help the body buffer stress and adapt to stressful situations. It can be used as maintenance with other blends, such as any of the tonics, especially for the metabolic or heavily used equine. It will support all the glands at a lower level than just addressing one or two of them at a time. This would also be a good blend to be used on neutered or spayed dogs that seem to stay overweight.
Weaknesses Possibly Supported with this Blend:
horses that are heavily used/stressed
a balanced metabolic horse (to keep them balanced)
horses that go back and forth between other glandular products
horses mildly over or under weight
Possible Support by Herb:
Alfalfa - supports pineal gland, pituitary, digestive tonic, appetite, uric acid retention, oxygen deficiency, general weakness and mineral deficiencies, nutritional tonic.
Bladderwrack – contains iodine to support normal thyroid function, thyroid stimulant, hypoglycemia, diuretic, nutritive tonic, thyroid deficiency, lessen obesity
Dulse – depression, glandular, mineralizer, hair, skeletal system, hooves, fatigue, hypothyroid, pregnancy, rich in iodine and also supports the thyroid gland and skeletal system.
Fennel - anti-inflammatory, anti-flatulent, carminative, regulates hormonal action in the body, aids digestion
Irish Moss – the iron content of Irish Moss helps in quick transportation of oxygen to your body cells, source of energy, supports thyroid gland, aids metabolism, promotes recovery, heavy metal detoxifying agent.
Kelp – fatigue, hypothyroid, hooves (weak or brittle), rich source of iodine and other trace minerals, mineralizer, systems supported are structural system and glandular systems including, thyroid, parathyroid, pineal, pituitary and reproductive. Source of electrolytes which are simply minerals that carry charges and conduct electricity in the body. The body constantly moves electrolytes through the tissues in order to promote balance in the system and metabolic functions. They are responsible for the transmission of nerve impulses, the function of the muscle tissue and the circulatory system, the balance of the body’s ph and the transport of toxins and nutrients through the cell wall. Basic electrolytes include sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium and magnesium but proper electrolyte function also requires trace minerals and other synergistic co-factors.
Licorice Root – anti-inflammatory for liver, anti-depressant, energy tonic, adrenal tonic, supports adrenal function, supports cortisol hormones, metabolic issues, weight gain, weight loss, mood swings
Nopal – anti-diabetic, obesity, high cholesterol, colitis, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, ulcers, diabetes, lowers blood sugar, hypoglycemic
Parsley - mineralizer, nutritive, supports the digestive, pituitary, uterus, urinary system
Rosemary - anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, carminative, antidepressant, digestive system, stimulates the liver relieving sluggishness
Sarsaparilla Root – binds endotoxins in the digestive tract, lymph function, supports the digestive system, liver and glandular systems along with supporting both reproductive systems with progesterone and testosterone
Schizandra Berry - adaptogen, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, sedative to support the adrenals, CNS, fatigue, increase endurance physically and mentally, astringent properties help with excessive sweating
Spirulina - appetite suppressant, corrects polarity, supports glandular, pituitary and pineal systems, nutritive, appetite (excessive), energy (lack of), fatigue, hypoglycemia, rich in amino acids
Yarrow Flower - anti-inflammatory, lymphatic, female reproductive system, hypothalamus, intestinal system, progesterone, sweat glands, thymus, urinary system, uterus, uterine fibroids.
