PITUITARY & ADRENAL
Blend: Astragalus Root, Bee Pollen, Burdock Root, Chaste Berry, Kelp, Licorice Root, Nopal, Rhodiola Rosea Root, Schizandra Berry, Spirulina Herb, Senticosus/Eleuthero Root
This blend supports the pituitary and adrenal glands. Horses in high stress environments and professions have an enormous amount of stress. Horses being fed toxic diets also have an enormous amount of stress on the endocrine and glandular system, especially the adrenals and eventually the pituitary. When the adrenals are over taxed a horse will have a very hard time rounding its back and getting its hind end in the ground. They will also appear sore in the kidney area since the adrenals sit on the kidneys. This is a very over looked issue.
Weaknesses possibly Supported with this Blend:
horses that have a heavy stress or workload
horses that are sore in their lower backs (over the kidney area)
horses that have had long-term injuries
horses that have had high sugar or unclean diets
horses that shed slow lack of shedding at all
horses with front end lameness or tenderness
horses with excessive water intake
horses that have lack of muscle mass
horses that are overweight “easy keeper” or hard to maintain weight “hard keeper"
horses with a cresty or hard neck
horses that may be prone to Cushing’s
horses with abnormal fat deposits or fatty dimples
Possible Support by Herb:
Astragalus Root – Adaptogen, antioxidant, antiviral, immune stimulant, adrenal fatigue, attention deficit disorder, digestion, prolapsed uterus, ulcers, wasting, also supports the immune system, lungs, respiratory system, urinary system and uterus.
Bee Pollen – Adrenal tonic, corrects polarity, appetite stimulant, glandular system, liver, hypothalamus, pituitary, endurance (lack of), energy (lack of), fatigue, hypoglycemia, contains all 22 amino acids.
Burdock Root – Detoxifying, hepatic, hypoglycemic, mast cell stabilizer, stomach tonic, fat metabolism (poor), fatty liver disease, fatty tumors or deposits, swollen lymph glands, hypoglycemia, lymphatic congestion, PMS, stimulates bile production, supports the digestive system, intestinal system, structural system, liver, lymphatic and kidney function.
Chasteberry – Reduce symptoms of PMS also balances hormones in males, it has a natural anti-androgen that lowers testosterone levels.
Kelp – Fatigue, hypothyroid, hooves (weak or brittle), rich source of iodine and other trace minerals, mineralizer, supports the structural and glandular systems including: thyroid, parathyroid, pineal, pituitary and reproductive, Source of electrolytes which are simply minerals that carry charges and conduct electricity in the body. The body constantly moves electrolytes through the tissues in order to promote balance in the system and metabolic functions. They are responsible for the transmission of nerve impulses, the function of the muscle tissue and the circulatory system, the balance of the body’s ph and the transport of toxins and nutrients through the cell wall. Basic electrolytes include sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium and magnesium but proper electrolyte function also requires trace minerals and other synergistic co-factors.
Licorice Root – Anti-inflammatory for liver, anti-depressant, energy tonic, adrenal tonic, supports adrenal function, supports cortisol hormones, metabolic issues, weight gain, weight loss, mood swings.
Nopal – Anti-diabetic, obesity, high cholesterol, colitis, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, ulcers, diabetes, lowers blood sugar, hypoglycemic.
Senticosus/Eleuthero Root – Adrenal fatigue, anger, anxiety, Cushing’s, depression, endurance (lack of), erectile dysfunction, fatigue, tension headache, hypoglycemia, infertility, mercury poisoning, sex drive (low), stress, testosterone (low), vaginal discharge, also supports the immune system and reproductive system.
Schizandra Berry – Adaptogen, adrenals, astringent, CNS, chemical damage, excessive sweating, fatigue, nervine, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, immune, supports the liver, urinary incontinence, supports the horse running at high speeds.
Spirulina – Appetite suppressant, addictions (sugar or refined carbohydrates), attention deficit disorder, corrects polarity, supports glandular, hypoglycemia, pituitary and pineal systems, nutritive, appetite (excessive), energy (lack of), fatigue, hypoglycemia, rich in amino acids and supports the glandular system and pancreatic tail.

Supports these glands. When adrenals are overtaxed horses may struggle using its hind end properly and may also appear sore in lower back.
